Who wishes to delay 24 until 2009?

Okay this just plain sucks.. I will have to wait an entire year to see my favorite tv show.  According to wikipedia:Season Seven, also known as Day 7, of the television series 24 was scheduled to premiere on Sunday, January 13, 2008, but due to the WGA strike, it was delayed “to ensure that Day 7 can air uninterrupted, in its entirety.” Even though the strike is over and eight episodes are already filmed (with more to be filmed soon), Fox has stated that the show will be delayed until January 2009 in order to “comply with viewers’ wishes”.What the heck?Who wishes to wait? Why? What are you thinking? I want to know.    

A new way to browse (in 3D)

I just found a new web browser that has quickly become a favorite of mine. I usually prefer Safari on Mac and Windows but Spacetime 3D which so far is for Windows only, is a new and innovative way to surf the web. Sure, it’s really not anything new but I really do like the graphical interface, it almost makes surfing the web fun and new again. It’s makes usual 2D pages almost feel 3D. Sure, you can play SecondLife and immerse yourself in a 3D world and become an avatar (3D character) and do all sorts of crazy things but this is just a browser that doesn’t require all the silliness that goes along with SecondLife. 

Notice that I didn’t link Secondlife, since I really don’t care about it anymore and don’t feel like promoting it.

Led Zeppelin gone country…the end of a good thing

Okay, I probably will be criticized for this but I just saw a video for Robert Plant singing with a country music star on CMT. First, you may ask why were you watching CMT? I was at a restaurant, and that’s what they had on. I didn’t even hear the music, but I would recognized that mop of a hairdo anywhere. I knew that he had worked with a new artist to redo a few songs, such as Thank You, etc, but I didn’t realize that this was a country artist. As a big Led Zeppelin fan, I think this is sad. Led Zeppelin is rock and roll not country. Yes, country is the root of rock and roll with Led Zeppelin, but Led Zeppelin is a far cry from country music. Sure, I am sure it sounds fine, and even Paul Anka can redo Smells Like Teen Spirit and Black Hole Sun, but that doesn’t make it right. I must admit though, I did buy Paul Anka’s album just for the novelty of having my favorite songs changed into something entirely almost unrecognizable, yet classy.So, yes this is just a short gripe about something trivial which most people may argue against, but guess what I can say whatever I darn well please. And you can read and agree with it or not, it’s a free country. 

Why do I live in an arctic tundra?

I live in North Dakota, which in February or at least today is very similar to an arctic tundra. Cold, dreary and low population. I do like living here for the people, but to be honest, I don’t like the cold temperatures and the snow. Growing up in Minnesota, one would think that I would be used to it. Just put on some warm gear and deal with it. I have been doing that for the past 30 some years. I think I am finally sick of it, and can’t wait until I move some where warmer. But then what will my major gripe be, bugs, or semi-cold weather or earth quakes or what? Regardless, I think all of those things can’t compare with sub-zero temperatures, blowing snow and icy roads.  This morning I had to get up at 6:30 a.m. and spend an hour using my snow blower to blow away only about an 1″ worth of snow that collected in drifts. Of course, my snow blower was not cooperating, one of the chains on it fell off and the tires were just spinning on one side. I only have a small narrow pathway to get to my garage now. I can’t wait until this snow melts. I much rather be mowing the grass. I suppose that would be my major gripe about living somewhere else, I would have probably mow the lawn all year round. I don’t have to do that now, but I do have to snow blow and shovel. At least with grass, if it gets too tall, your neighbors just might not like you. With snow, you can’t get out of your driveway unless you try to move it somewhere else in your yard.  I am sure if anyone reads this they will just think I’m a wimp. Fine, call me a wimp, but I’m just expressing my feelings.
