Abandoning Blogger.com

I am still not sure if I will be able to abandon my first blog site. I am not what I would consider a consistent blogger, but some people may claim they are bloggers and write less than I do. I have several blogs. The main reason I do this, is so I can continue writing, but also stay up-to-date with newer technology. I work with students, so I figure if I have a blog and students want to know more about blogs, I can help them out. I still haven’t figured out how to add paragraph breaks using wordpress, however, I was able to import all of my blogger.com stuff for this blog. I also think I will have more of a chance of people actually reading my blog. I would like to host my own website and blog at home but that will have to be saved for a summer project. I also need to acquire a Mac to set up as a permanent computer to do this. I am considering getting an older Mac Mini but I will have to wait for now. 

Leopard is awesome

I am using the new Mac OS X 10.5 and find that is a worthwhile update. As most new upgrades, there are some bugs, but I must admit that I had hacked the OS within the first 24 hours… So, it could be my fault. I added the missing .qtz files so I could use the ichat and Photobooth effects that were left out of the operating system after it was released.  The ability to use backgrounds is an amazing wow factor. The new cover flow feature was something that I was looking forward to, but I was not sure if I would use it all that much, since I figured it would slow down the computer. I find it very fast and also an amazing wow factor. As you can see in my flickr stream, I have had fun with the new image features. I am not all that convinced that Spaces is a great new feature, honestly I don’t really get it. I don’t see the difference between this and using command-tab and the expose feature.I am always using Option-Command-H so I don’t find the new Spaces feature a benefit.I have not tried the new Bootcamp, but am eager to find out how it works with Vista or if there really is no improvement or not.I guess that’s all I have to say about Leopard for now.
