I am not sure which is better, Flickr or Picasa. Both are great sites that you can share photos with. So, what do I do, I upload photos to both. The difference between the two are: Flickr is from Yahoo and allows you to have 100 megabytes of uploaded photos per month, versus Google’s Picasa which allows 2 gigs total.I am not sure if there is an upload limit per month. I know that both over pay versions, and both offer sharing of files and tagging and mapping of where you photos were taken.I think I will continue to use both, but I think I like Picasa better, but Flickr seems to be very cool as well. I like that the web browser, Flock allows you to view your Flickr account in a media stream.I like that both have upload software for Windows and Mac. I also like that Picasa allows you upload movies, which I don’t think Flickr does, actually I am pretty sure that it doesn’t.Flickr does allow you to join groups and submit photos to groups.I also like that Flickr indicates which type of camera you used to take the photos with, which Picasa does not do.I could go on and on, but it’s late and I think it’s time for me to go to bed.

Yet another blog
October 12, 2007 · Leave a Comment
According to sites I’ve seen, something like 30,000 blogs are started every second. I’m not sure about that, but maybe it’s true.
Anyway this is yet another blog that I have created.

Tech podcasts and no time…

Ok, I have been busy to say the least.
I actually have a lot to do but I am trying to make room for my blog hobby.
I actually have several blogs but this is one that I had hopes of other people reading. I don’t think I actually have anyone reading any of my blogs, but in case they get start attracting an audience all of a sudden, I will continue. Actually, I will continue regardless if I have anyone reading my blogs or not. It’s just fun for me to do this and I learn about doing a blog in the process.
I am considering hosting my own website and using WordPress and doing my own blog site and wiki and other web 2.0 apps. But the issue is time and research on all of the things I need to accomplish that. Plus, I didn’t have a computer to dedicate to doing this yet. I still probably won’t so I will have to wait for that. Probably the only reason besides doing the whole thing myself, I just want to use WordPress to use the widget, which displays what I have been writing on an igoogle page. I will try and see if the free non-server version of WordPress would have the same features.
I have been listening to Leo Laporte’s tech guy podcast a lot lately. He says just give him six weeks and he will turn you into a geek. I have been listening and I have learned a lot. Some of the things that are talked about are no big deal but some of it is very new and interesting. Sometimes, I find it hard to listen to the people who are not techie people asking questions but then it reminds me that I need to listen so I can learn how to explain those things to the people that I work, with or even my wife.
I am glad that I have been listening to a lot of podcasts and actually I don’t even have time to listen to all of the stuff that’s on my ipod. I haven’t even listened to song on it for weeks. I am so glad that I canceled my XM radio, I don’t miss it at all. At first I missed it, but now I am glad I did it. I was a fan of the Opie and Anthony show but I don’t care anymore. I will check to see if they are still on the air, for all I know they might be canceled by now.
