Read the following… I think it’s awesome, yet weird.

Hundreds of flashmob clubbers dance in silence among commuters at Liverpool Street station

Hundreds of people descended on Liverpool Street station for the biggest ever turnout for the latest internet craze – mobile clubbing.

Armed with MP3 players loaded with favourite tracks the “clubbers” arrived on the concourse just after 7pm last night. Students, business people and office workers danced in silence as they listened to their iPods among commuters listening to announcements about late trains.

Details of the time and venue were sent by email. The event is similar to the flash mobbing movement pioneered in New York which involved large numbers of people gathering to conduct bizarre activities.

One commuter said: “It was entertaining if strange to see all these people gyrating to their own beat. It was the Soul Train arriving at platform one.”

Eureka

No, not the vacuum, the new tv show on the Sci Fi channel.

I never thought I would enjoy watching a show on the Sci Fi channel, unless it was old episodes of Dr. Who or the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

This new show is funny, witty and clever… and Both Jen and I like it.

We didn’t catch it when it was on this summer, but thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I was able to buy the shows for $1.99 an episode and download them to my ipod and then hook that up to the tv..

Okay, yes that sounds like a lot of work but really it’s not.. and the picture is crystal clear and this is what’s worth the $1.99

THERE ARE NO FREAKING COMMERCIALS!! Yes folks iTunes is a miracle… if you wan to watch your favorite show without waiting for it to go to DVD or actually watching it when it’s on with the commericals, you can have your dream come true..

I guess if you pay for Tivo from the satellite companies you can do the same thing pretty much, but I can’t afford Tivo.

The only actor on this new show that I recognize is Jack (Colin Ferguson) or as I knew him, Jack from Days of our Miserable weird freaky lives… that my mom watches religously.

The other character that’s interesting in this show is Jack’s house, named Sarah, who talks to him.. the other characters are good too, and I’m wondering why they have a character named Fargo… but who cares..

It’s weird, my two favorite shows have lead characters named Jack. The other Jack I’m referring to is Jack Bauer, and that is a show that I will not miss, it’s like I am addicted to it and I guess there will be 24 for a couple more years, since Keifer Sutherland (aka Jack) signed a deal for a few more seasons..

Wal-Mart groceries

October 19, 2006 · 1 Comment

Hooray!

Grand Forks is now the home of a Super Wal-Mart. In case you can’t tell I am being sarcastic, even though I do like shopping at this new store that’s so large, I can never find anything.

Yes, I shouldn’t knock it since my sister-in-law does work there, but it is a huge corporate monster that eats up little business guys. Like my favorite and my father-in-law’s favorite Super One. Yes this is a corporation too, but with this little grocery store, there are less people there on any given day. In Grand Forks, we do have a local chain, Hugo’s which is family owned but I don’t like to go there either because there are always too many people.. and I hate standing in line to buy stuff.

That’s why I will give Wal-Mart credit, I can always check out fast with their new “Self-Checkout.” The only problem is, I am always afraid I am going to forget to scan something and an alarm will go off when I walk out the door and I will be in big trouble. I guess I can claim stupidity.

This new Wal-Mart has so much crap (that’s what it is – it’s just full or more stuff, I really don’t need [besides some essentials]) that I can’t believe it. I like my Russian Commodity store – Super One, where there is just one bread (not really) but a lot fewer choices… and yes we also have the Super Target which is the same as the Super Wal-Mart… but it’s higher priced and smaller.

I just hope my little corner grocery store next to this big monster doesn’t get eaten up in the competition.
