Okay, coming from a person deprieved of an iPod, take it anyway you want.
First I will admit, I really would like one of these little wonders of technology.
Recently on Saturday Night Live, during the Weekend Update, there was a skit about Steve Jobs introducing new iPods for the future and it was ridiculous but funny. He kept showing smaller and smaller iPods until he introduced the iInvisible, which was nothing of course.
The iPod Nano is great, but I think the iPod video is the best. I am sure that there will be more updates and newer models as the skit on SNL jokes about, is really the truth, although not to that extreme.
I would like to use the iPod Video for other purposes than watching movies, tv shows and listening to music. I want to use it as an educational tool.
The iPods can be used for “Podcasts” in which instructors can provide their lectures in an alternative format and they can also use this as a supplement for instruction. It would be great to view or listen to what your professor said after class to clarify those questions in your mind. It would also be great for when you want to study for a test, or even point out to the instructor that he said “I will be giving everyone A’s” or “The test will be on Monday” when he hands it out on Friday and the students are all puzzled.
There is a lot more that can be said about iPods, but as I said before, I have limited experience with them, so my knowledge of their use is also limited. I know that they operate very similar to the iTunes program and they can store almost any type of file such as a flash memory drive. I also know that the smaller iPod’s are flash memory and the larger ones contain hard drives.
Hopefully, I can write more about this subject once I acquire my own iPod someday.
